Hotfix 2454820 for TCMS v3.1

Hotfix 2454820 has been released to correct an issue within TCMS v3.1 "Send To Project" functionality and also to allow interoperability between TCMS v3.1 and Microsoft Project 2007; as well as continued support for Microsoft Project 2003. This article provides information about the Hotfix file, an overview of the issue found within TCMS v3.1, system requirements and instructions for installing the Hotfix. After installing the Hotfix, TCMS v3.1 will become TCMS v3.1.1. Please note the "TCMS v3.1" designation on the TCMS displays, reports and users guide will not change. Two methods for identifying the patch is installed is as follows:

• From the control panel, Select Add/Remove Programs and scroll down to see that TCMS v3 Engineering Platform HOTFIX2454820.exe exists.
  


• From the TCMS v3 Engineering Platform installation directory, locate MSProjectInterface.dll and view properties. The file version should read 3.1.1.

The project module of TCMS v3.1 outputs incorrect resources and resource quantities in an exported or sent Microsoft Project file. To recreate this issue follow the steps below:

1) Click the Project button the TCMS application tool bar.

2) Select a Project within the Project Tree located on the left hand side of the Project form.

3) Click the management button on the TCMS application tool bar.

4) Click "send to project".

5) Follow the wizard instructions.

6) Once the "send to project" wizard is complete, open the exported or sent Microsoft Project File.

7) The resources displayed in the task view of the project schedule do not match those of the TCMS Project.

TCMS v3.1 must be installed. Please refer to the system requirements of TCMS v3.1.

Close TCMS v3.1 and Microsoft Project 2003/2007. Download the Hotfix file and double-click or select run to activate it. It will then start the installation wizard. Once the wizard is complete, the Hotfix is done and you may then start TCMS v3.1.
